A delegation of water management specialists from Uzbekistan visited Israel from September 6 to 10. As part of a professional exchange, participants studied methods of rational water use, resource monitoring, modern irrigation, and the reuse of treated wastewater. The trip was organized with the assistance of the Israeli Embassy in Uzbekistan.
Uzbek specialists visited the Israel Hydrological Service, Mekorot company, and the Jerusalem water corporation Gihon. They were presented with systems for water quality control, groundwater management, consumption accounting, reduction of losses in infrastructure, and ensuring stable urban water supply. Special attention was paid to wastewater treatment and the use of treated water in agriculture.

The delegation studied practical solutions in agriculture at Kibbutz Magal. Specialists familiarized themselves with irrigation technologies adapted to conditions of limited water resources. At Kinneret Academic College, participants were shown developments in water treatment and desalination, hydrology, quality control, and environmental sustainability, as well as a system for training specialists using laboratory research, modeling, and field work.
Following the visit, the parties noted the prospects for further exchange of experience. For Uzbekistan, digital monitoring and water accounting, loss reduction, modern irrigation systems, groundwater management, and the reuse of treated wastewater are of practical interest. The participants also emphasized the importance of combining infrastructure projects, scientific developments, technologies, and the training of specialized professionals.
