Customs officers at the Tashkent International Airport customs post prevented an attempt to illegally import 14 new iPhone smartphones. Three passengers arrived from Dubai and did not declare the mobile devices either during oral questioning or in passenger customs declarations.
Between September 20 and 22, eight iPhone 18s and six iPhone 17s were found on the offenders. The total value of the undeclared smartphones amounted to 227 million soums. Investigations into the identified facts are ongoing.

According to current rules, an individual can import no more than two mobile devices for personal use. The phone must also be indicated in the passenger customs declaration — which is subsequently used as the basis for registering the device in the UZIMEI system.
If the value of imported goods exceeds the established duty-free import limit, a single customs payment of 30% is levied on the excess amount. When importing a phone bypassing customs control, the payment is calculated based on the full value of the device.
Since the beginning of 2026, Tashkent-AERO employees have prevented the illegal import of 162 mobile devices with a total value of 7.8 billion soums.
