Scientists and lecturers of the Almalyk State Technical Institute (AGTI) received several awards at the republican competition "Engineers of the Future", organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan. First place in the "Best Invention" nomination among the faculty was awarded to a technology for extracting manganese and iron from steelmaking slags. The development is already being used at a number of enterprises in Uzbekistan and by the Turkish company DEMIR GROUP.

Another recognized work was the technology for optimizing hydrometallurgical processes of selective manganese extraction using artificial intelligence. The solution is aimed at applying AI algorithms in production processes and increasing the efficiency of raw material processing. AGTI representatives also took third place among practicing engineers with a development for increasing the operational life and restoring hammer crushers.

The competition brought together engineering, scientific, technical, and innovative projects focused on solving practical industrial problems. The developments presented by AGTI specialists cover three areas: processing metallurgical waste, implementing artificial intelligence in production processes, and improving industrial equipment.
