The average concentration of fine particulate matter PM2.5 in Tashkent from January 1 to September 21, 2026, decreased by 25% compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the number of days with good air quality according to the national standard increased from 81 to 147. As part of the nationwide project "Clean Air," the authorities of Uzbekistan continue to expand environmental monitoring and measures to reduce emissions.

459 automatic monitoring stations have already been installed at industrial enterprises of categories I–II. In Tashkent, an inventory of 554 enterprises was carried out, and 186 dust and gas treatment plants were modernized at 67 facilities. Vehicles also undergo environmental checks: more than 280 thousand cars have been covered by control, thanks to which, according to the department, emissions of 2.52 thousand tons of harmful substances have been prevented. More than 2.2 million environmental stickers have been issued across the country. In the capital, automatic monitoring of PM2.5 content has been organized at ten sites, and the online platform "Eco-control" has been launched.

Additional requirements are being introduced for construction and landscaping. For objects higher than 12 meters or with an area exceeding 500 sq. meters, landscaping of at least 30% of the territory is provided. A "green belt" with an area of 330 hectares is being created in Tashkent and Sirdaryo regions, and a "Green Corridor" 33 km long is being created along the Small Ring Road. By the end of 2026, it is planned to reduce polluting and transport emissions by 2%, reduce the number of days with PM2.5 exceedance by 7%, equip 40% of construction sites with dust suppression and monitoring systems, and modernize 30% of industrial enterprises.
