The Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov, held a working meeting with the management of Hitachi Vantara, where the country was presented as a potential platform for IT outsourcing. During the negotiations, the current tax and customs benefits, a comfortable environment for IT Park residents, as well as state programs for training and retraining IT personnel were discussed.
The parties considered the possibility of opening a regional office of the company in Uzbekistan, taking into account the country's strategic location, access to the CIS markets and neighboring countries, as well as the availability of a qualified workforce. Hitachi Vantara expressed interest in the development of outsourcing, the creation of infrastructure for working with data and data centers, the training of local specialists and the implementation of joint projects with the public and private sectors.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue cooperation, promote Uzbekistan as a regional platform for IT outsourcing and data infrastructure, launch outsourcing projects and build data centers, as well as identify specific steps for the implementation of these initiatives.
