The Chinese BAW 212 SUV will receive local assembly in Uzbekistan. This is reported by "Chinese Automobiles", referring to the data of the Vehicle Type Approval, issued for the model in the country. The assembly is planned to be organized by Asaka Motors.
The document indicates two countries of production — China and Uzbekistan. This means that the first batches of BAW 212 will be supplied from the Chinese factory, and production within the country will be launched later.
The five-door version for the Uzbek market will be equipped with a two-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 218 hp, an eight-speed "automatic", a plug-in all-wheel drive and inter-wheel differential locks.
