The government of Uzbekistan has approved a resolution on the project "Five Million Leaders in Artificial Intelligence," a continuation of the "One Million Programmers" initiative. The program aims to involve young people in IT and develop digital skills necessary for future high-paying professions. A national competition is held annually, where the best participants are recognized with cash prizes and valuable gifts.
Among the awards are $1,000 for 100 teachers, overseas trips for 10 educators, laptops for 500 young participants, and prizes for another 500 people. Three higher education institutions receive cash prizes, and two schools are awarded the "President's Gift" - electric cars.
Additionally, within the framework of the "Heirs of Muhammad al-Khwarizmi" project, young people have the opportunity to receive free training in modern IT professions, including project and startup management, as well as studying foreign languages and obtaining international IT certificates. The initiative aims to train qualified specialists and form a talent pool for the country's digital economy.
