A working meeting was held in Tashkent between Chinese Ambassador Yu Jun and Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Umid Abidkhadjaev. The prospects for bilateral cooperation in the field of ecology, sustainable development and the "green economy" were discussed, including the introduction of innovative approaches to reducing pollution, greening territories and preserving soil fertility.
Particular attention was paid to combating land degradation and desertification, the rational use of natural resources, and the Chinese side shared its experience in implementing similar projects in the northwestern regions of China, including sand-fixation grid technologies.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed on further development of cooperation, exchange of expert knowledge and implementation of joint projects in the field of "green economy" and environmentally sustainable development, based on best international practices.
