Uzbekistan's Trucking Market in 2025

Demand Growth and Transformation of Logistics Flows

In 2025, Uzbekistan recorded a steady increase in demand for road freight transport on both domestic and international routes, according to data from the international "ATI.SU Freight Exchange." The number of applications for cargo delivery by road has increased in all key areas, reflecting a revival of the market after the stagnation of the previous year.

Several factors influenced the market dynamics. The decrease in the profitability of transportation in the Russian direction is associated with the tightening of customs control on the Russian-Kazakh border. At the same time, the recovery of import traffic and the sharp increase in cargo flows in the direction of Kyrgyzstan were due to the introduction of electronic permits (e-permit), which increased the volume of re-export and re-import operations.

In the import transportation segment, the number of applications increased by 21%, with an average tariff increase of about 10%. The largest growth was observed for Kazakhstan (+45%), China (+54%), and Kyrgyzstan (+117%), while the Russian direction leads in terms of the absolute number of applications (+17%).

Export transportation showed an increase in applications of 29% per year. The first half of the year was the most active: in the first quarter, growth reached 34%, in the second — 86%. The main destinations were Russia (+24%), Kazakhstan (+23%), Belarus (+48%), and the leader in terms of growth rate was Kyrgyzstan, where the number of applications tripled.

Domestic transportation showed the greatest dynamics: the number of applications increased by 79%, and the growth was distributed evenly throughout the year. The main drivers were an increase in industrial production of 6.8% and an increase in retail trade of 11.2%.

Overall, the road freight market in Uzbekistan in 2025 shows a recovery after the previous period of stagnation and adaptation to new regulatory and logistical conditions, which lays the foundation for further development of the industry in 2026.
