A large-scale update of the public transport system is starting in Tashkent. By decision of the city commission, 240 new buses will be delivered to the capital of Uzbekistan, and the route network will be expanded by launching 16 additional directions. The daily number of trips will be increased by approximately 2 thousand.
As part of the modernization of transport infrastructure, the development of the BRT system is planned: 16.2 km of specialized lanes and another 56 km of dedicated bus lanes will appear. More than 600 CCTV cameras will be installed to control traffic and improve safety in these areas.
Special attention is paid to digitalization: 545 "smart" traffic lights will be introduced in the city, which will regulate traffic flow in real time. The reconstruction of more than 1100 stops and the construction of 70 new complexes are also planned, which should increase passenger convenience and the system's capacity.
