A program to study "green" hydrogen technologies has been launched in Uzbekistan as part of the Clean Hydrogen for Uzbekistan initiative. Specialists from the Ministry of Energy and the National Research Institute of Renewable Energy are participating in the project with the support of the Global Green Growth Institute.
The main goal of the program is to study global experience in creating a hydrogen energy market, including legislative and technological approaches. Special attention is paid to issues of hydrogen production, storage, and integration into industry. The experience of the Republic of Korea is considered as a key example.
"Green" hydrogen is produced by electrolysis using energy from renewable sources, which helps reduce the carbon footprint. Uzbekistan views this technology as one of the tools for transitioning to a low-carbon economy and modernizing its energy system, and also plans to expand international cooperation in this area.
