Uzbekistan and China have agreed to establish a joint early warning system for dust and sand storms. The project was discussed at a meeting of the environmental agencies of the two countries during a regional summit.
Key participants in the negotiations were Aziz Abdukhakimov, Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan on Ecology, and Huang Runqiu, Minister of Ecology of China. The parties noted that cooperation is gradually moving from general initiatives to practical projects involving modern technologies and scientific exchange.
The agreements also include the development of satellite monitoring, the creation of a joint laboratory for air and water quality, and the expansion of scientific programs in the field of climate change. The Chinese side expressed its readiness to share technologies and send specialists to support environmental projects in the region.
