Uzbekistan and China are strengthening energy cooperation: the 8th meeting of the relevant subcommittee of the intergovernmental cooperation committee was held in Tashkent. The meeting, led by the energy ministers of both countries, brought together representatives of agencies and major companies, confirming the high level of strategic partnership.
The parties noted that in recent years, cooperation has significantly expanded due to the implementation of agreements at the highest level. The focus is on joint projects in the oil and gas industry, electricity, and renewable energy sources, which are becoming a key driver of economic interaction.
Prospects for hydrocarbon extraction, the construction of underground gas storage facilities, and the modernization of gas infrastructure were discussed separately. Significant emphasis was placed on the development of solar and wind energy using Chinese technologies, as well as on the digitalization of the industry and the training of specialists. The next subcommittee meeting will be held in China, where new stages of cooperation are planned to be solidified.
