In the first quarter of 2026, foreign companies providing electronic services in Uzbekistan transferred 65.7 billion soums in taxes to the country's budget. According to tax authorities, revenues from 89 foreign IT companies increased by 81% compared to the same period last year.
Apple became the largest taxpayer, paying 16.1 billion soums. Google followed with 14.9 billion soums, and Meta (recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) with 13.9 billion soums. The list of largest payers also included Valve Corp. – 8 billion soums, OpenAI – 2.5 billion soums, and Anthropic – 1.5 billion soums.
In addition, significant amounts were transferred by Midasbuy, TikTok, Booking.com, and Netflix. Authorities note that the growth in tax revenues reflects the active expansion of international digital services in the Uzbek market, as well as increased control and administration in the digital economy. Foreign companies are required to submit tax reports and pay taxes no later than the 20th day of the month following the end of the quarter.
