Uzbekistan and Malaysia are expanding cooperation in microelectronics, semiconductor manufacturing, and training of specialized professionals. During a working visit of the Uzbek delegation to Malaysia, the parties signed several memorandums between universities and technological organizations.

In Kuala Lumpur, representatives from Uzbekistan visited the IC Design Park complex and the MIMOS Berhad research center. They familiarized themselves with the infrastructure for working with semiconductor wafers, developing microelectronic device prototypes, testing integrated circuits, and verifying their reliability. The delegation also participated in the Selangor AI & Semiconductor Summit 2026 and held negotiations with industry companies.

Agreements were concluded between ToshTech and Malaysian ASEM Academy and Great ASIC, and Cyber University with Asia e University, Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation, and AlphaSwift. The agreements provide for personnel training, exchange of technological experience, and joint scientific and applied projects. The next stage of the visit was the city of Penang. Specific timelines for the launch of educational programs have not yet been disclosed.
