Uzbekistan has updated the rules for user registration in mobile banking applications. Now, to create an account and link a bank card, it is permitted to use a phone number registered not only to the client themselves but also to their close relative. The Ministry of Justice registered the corresponding changes on August 14, 2026.
The list includes parents, brothers, sisters, children, and spouses, as well as the spouse's relatives. Information about kinship will be automatically verified through the state information system. This should simplify access to banking services for people who use a phone number registered to a family member.

At the same time, banks are obliged to strengthen the protection of mobile applications. For transfers exceeding a certain amount, additional code confirmation may be required. If malicious software or remote access to the smartphone is detected, the user will receive not only an SMS but also a PUSH notification.
Changes also affected logging in from a new device: linked cards will be temporarily blocked, and re-activation will require code confirmation. In addition, when transferring money, the application will display the recipient's first and last name, while hiding some of their personal data.
