The car market in Uzbekistan maintained high activity in August 2026: total car sales in the primary and secondary markets exceeded 79,000 units, virtually unchanged from July. Passenger car sales, however, increased by 2.2%, reaching 62,500 vehicles. Positive dynamics were recorded in nine out of 14 regions. Sales in Bukhara region increased by 19.1%, in Tashkent region by 11.9%, and in Khorezm region by 10.8%.

Demand in the primary market significantly strengthened: sales of new passenger cars grew by 20.5% to 30,600 units. The main contribution came from locally produced cars — their sales increased by almost 25% to 25,300 vehicles. Sales of new foreign brand cars amounted to 5,300 units, showing a 7% increase. At the same time, the secondary market contracted: sales of used passenger cars decreased by 10.8% to almost 32,000 units, but still accounted for 50.2% of total passenger car sales.

Electric vehicle sales in August amounted to 9,200 units, maintaining the July level, but increased by 44.5% compared to August 2025. Tashkent remains the leader in sales volume, where 6,300 electric vehicles were sold — 68.5% of the entire market. This was followed by Fergana region with 662 vehicles and Tashkent region with 455 vehicles.
