IT Park Uzbekistan and Alibaba Group discussed expanding cooperation in artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, and supporting technology startups. Negotiations between Makhliyo Muksinova, Director of Strategic Development at IT Park Uzbekistan, and Frank Ludwin Schaefer, Head of International Government Affairs at Alibaba Group, took place during ICT WEEK Uzbekistan 2026. Special attention was paid to providing Uzbek specialists and companies with access to Alibaba Group's international technological expertise.
One of the directions could be the launch of Alibaba Cloud AI educational programs for IT Park residents and specialists from Uzbekistan. These programs are planned to include technical workshops and preparation for professional certification. In addition, selected Uzbek startups may be provided with Alibaba Cloud resources for developing, testing, and further improving AI solutions.

The parties also considered holding joint AI hackathons and innovation challenges with the participation of Alibaba Cloud experts and representatives of the IT Park Uzbekistan startup ecosystem. The organizations' cooperation has been ongoing since 2020: initially, it focused on e-commerce and the entry of Uzbek companies into the Chinese market. In June 2025, the expansion of interaction with Alibaba Cloud and Alibaba.com was discussed, and in July 2026, AI, cloud technologies, and digital infrastructure were added to the agenda.
