This became known at the international scientific and practical conference on the development of nuclear energy in the republic, which is taking place in Tashkent.
The project under the May contract with the Uzbek authorities provides for the construction of a small nuclear power plant based on a Russian design with a capacity of 330 MW (six reactors with a capacity of 55 MW each) in the Jizzakh region of the republic. Rosatom will act as the general contractor for the construction of the plant and will work with local companies. The reactors are scheduled to be commissioned in stages from 2029 to 2033.
The contract has already been signed, and we are in the active phase of its implementation. Pre-project and the beginning of project works are actively underway, and in fact we are at the start of the beginning of work already on the site.
Currently, the state corporation is already building 39 nuclear power units abroad. Rosatom's largest foreign projects are Akkuyu NPP in Turkey and El Dabaa NPP in Egypt.
