A meeting was held in Tashkent between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea, Won Do-yeon, and the First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan, Ilkhom Norkulov. The negotiations were also attended by representatives of the Korean Embassy and heads of relevant departments of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
The main topic of discussion was the expansion of bilateral cooperation in economics and finance. The parties paid special attention to the possibilities of introducing artificial intelligence technologies into the economic and financial system of Uzbekistan. The involvement of Korean AI specialists, as well as the use of digital solutions to improve the efficiency of financial management, are being considered.
In addition, cooperation in the field of treasury was discussed, including the exchange of experience with experts from the Fiscal Information Service of the Republic of Korea. Separately, the parties touched upon issues of demographic development, assessment of the labor market and forecasting the standard of living of the population. Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue expert interaction and implement joint projects aimed at modernizing the public finance management system.
