In 2025, commercial banks in Uzbekistan sharply increased their lending volumes. According to the Central Bank, the total portfolio of loans issued reached 390 trillion soums, compared to 287.2 trillion soums the previous year, representing a growth of approximately 36%. Throughout the year, the dynamics remained stable, reflecting an active expansion of financing for the economy.

The main driver was loans in the national currency. Their volume increased to 276.4 trillion soums from 193.3 trillion in 2024. The largest share went to individuals — 156.8 trillion soums, which confirms the high demand for consumer and mortgage loans. Legal entities received 108.8 trillion soums, and individual entrepreneurs received 10.8 trillion.

The volume of foreign currency loans also increased — to 113.6 trillion soums compared to 94 trillion the previous year. Almost the entire amount went to businesses, which indicates a stable need for companies to finance investment and foreign trade projects. As a result, banks strengthened their position as a key source of support for business activity in the country.
